Corpus Christi College Chamber ChoirThe Corpus Christi Chamber Choir provides a wonderful opportunity for members of our community to further develop their choral performance skills and share their talents with the Greater Vancouver community. The choir performs at various events throughout the Lower Mainland, including holiday concerts and parish fundraisers. Performances include a variety of both sacred and secular choral repertoire with an emphasis on contemporary commissioned works by living composers. The Corpus Christi College Chamber Choir is an auditioned ensemble open to talented individuals with close ties to the CCC Community. Members include College students and alumni, College staff, and working professionals. Auditions are held each year in June and early September. Please contact the College for details. The Artistic DirectorTony Araujo is Director of Choral Activities at St. Patrick Regional Secondary and Artistic Director of the British Columbia Boys Choir and Corpus Christi College Chamber Choir. In addition to his conducting responsibilities, he also works as a spiritual retreat director and is a sought-after speaker, consultant, and adjudicator. At St. Patrick’s Regional Secondary, Araujo has developed an award-winning high school choral music program, with nearly 50% of the school population enrolled each year since 1994. He and his choirs have traveled extensively throughout Canada and the United States, Europe, and China, and have garnished awards of distinction, recognized for their passion and musicality as well as for their mastery and interpretation of diverse and challenging repertoire. Tony Araujo is committed to vocational and transferential aspects of the choral music experience, applying new theories and practices of depth psychology to cultural transformation and healing, and locating this work in the larger frame of academic scholarship. Tony Araujo has conducted at festivals and conferences throughout North America, including the American Choral Directors’ Association Convention Honor Choir. He is an active member of and volunteers with several professional choral music organizations and outreach groups including CMEA, BCCF, ACDA, Kids Sing, and the Enspire Foundation. He is an inducted lifetime Honorary Member of the Golden Key International Honors Society for scholastic achievement, leadership, and community service, and a national recipient of the Prime Minister’s Award for Teaching Excellence. Upcoming ConcertsPlease join us for our two main concerts this season. The proceeds from these performances go directly to support the choir.
